7:30 - Open
7:30-8:30 - Free Play
8:30-8:40 Get ready to go outside. Walk the school age children to school. This is rain or shine so children need to come dressed appropriate for the weather.
8:40-9:30 Walk the older children to school and have a play outside at the school play ground. (If the weather is nice we will sometimes take a snack to the playground so that we can stay longer)
9:30-9:50 Snack
9:50-11:00 Free play (sometimes we stay at the table longer and participate in a craft)
11:00 11:30 Music and movement
11:30-12:00 Lunch
12:00-2:00 Quiet time (all children must have quiet time. Younger children sleep, older children rest quietly, watch a cartoon, build a puzzle etc)
2:00-3:00 bathroom and diaper routines as well as free play
3:00 4:15 Outside time and walk to the school to pick up the school age children. Play at the school or come home and play in our back yard.
4:15 4:30 Snack
4:30-5:00 Coloring, puzzles, free play
5:00 Closed!
Our schedule is based on what comes next and not so much about the exact time. I run a structured program so that the children begin to understand what will happen next but I am flexible to what time things happen at if the children are having a great time doing something special. In dealing with children we quickly realize children don't care what time it is. I work based on what works for a particular group of children that I am dealing with at the time. The schedule may change according to the children I have, the season changing etc.
