Little Rascals Daycare

                             Policies and Procedures

These policies and procedures are not created to make anyone's life difficult. They are put in place to ensure everyone's health and safety involved in my program. Please read these carefully and be sure that you agree to them. These polices are enforced.

Illness of a Child or Myself
This is inevitable please be sure you are prepared for this by having a back up provider.  Illness of myself or my family is unpredictable just as it is with yours. It may happen at the last minute and that can not be avoided. Your child may not attend daycare when they are ill. Please ask yourself these questions when trying to decide if they may attend. Has the child vomited in the last 24 hrs? Has the child had three or more loose bowel movements in the last 24 hrs? Is the child's temperature 100 or higher without medication? Has my child had a temperature without medication in the last 24 hrs? Does my child have a rash  that has not been diagnosed by a Dr? If you answer yes to any of these questions your child is too ill to attend daycare. If your child has been sent home with a fever over 100 degrees they may not attend daycare the following day. They must be fever free without medication for 24 hrs to ensure that they are healthy. They may have a communicable illness and we don't want that illness spread through the daycare. If I become ill and have to close the daycare it inconveniences everyone. The last question but possibly the most important you should ask, can my child participate in normal daily activities? This includes, walking to the park, walking to playgroup, playing outside, participating in arts and crafts, walking to and from school to pick up the school age children etc. If they are unable to do these things regardless of the reason they may not attend daycare. We must walk to school daily to pick up school age children and not all children fit in the stroller, they need to be well enough to participate in our daily activities.
If your child becomes ill while they are in my care you will be phoned to come and pick up your child.  I will first phone the home number provided, then the work numbers for both parents. If cell numbers are provided I would try those before trying contacts but if none of those numbers are reached then a contact on your child’s file will be called to pick up the child.

Daycare Schedules
At the time of registration your child's schedule will be decided. If there are changes required to this schedule we will discuss it. If for any reason you are not arriving for drop off or pick up at your regularly scheduled time please call to see where your child can be dropped off or picked up. We do not stay at home all day so if you are not arriving on time we may not be at home.

Holidays
I take one week of holidays each year. I am closed the first week of August and do not require you pay for this week. In return  full time families will also be given one week that you may use during the year without payment. If you are a part time family you will be given the first week of August only. I require two weeks notice in writing that you will be using your holiday time. Both of these weeks are payment free for full time families.
I am closed all stat holidays with pay. I am closed December 24th and December 31st without pay.

Late Policy
I am open from 7:30 to 5:00 Monday to Friday. Please do not arrive after 5:00 pm to pick up your child. If you are arrive late more than twice your contract may be terminated. There will be a late fee that will be enforced for people not respecting the closing time. The late charge will be $5.00 per child for every five minuets.
5:01 to 5:05 $5.00
5:06 to 5:10 $10.00
5:11 to 5:15 $15.00
Lateness is not acceptable. Please respect my closing time so that you do not need to pay late charges.

Fees
Full Time
0-4 $32.00 per day
School Age (B&A) $70.00 (weekly)
Half Day (4 hrs or less) $18.00
Part Time
o-4 $35.00 per day (less than 5 days a week)

I do not provide part time school age care. The minimum part time schedule is three days per week. Anything less than five days a week is considered part time.
All fees will be paid bi-weekly and paid on Monday at drop off of each pay period. Fees will remain the same unless I have called you to indicate that I am sick and unable to care for your child. Your child's absence from daycare for any other reason does not change the amount owing. Any fees that are paid and need to be credited because of illness on my part will be credited the following pay period.

Holding Spaces
No space is considered held until all paper work has been returned and a deposit of two weeks pay which is non refundable is paid. This deposit will be used towards your first two weeks of care.

Probationary Period
There will be a three week probationary period at the beginning of care. This time is allow you to get to know me better as well as for me to get to know you and your child better. If at any time during these three weeks either of us decides that the agreement is not working out we may terminate care immediately without two weeks notice.

Final Notice
Please be considerate when giving notice upon your child's completion of daycare. I require two weeks notice in order to replace your child before they are finished. If you know more than two weeks in advance, more time is always appreciated.
If for any reason I need to terminate care I will also give you two weeks notice. If for some reason giving two weeks notice puts the other children or myself in harms way two weeks notice will not be given. Care may be terminated if parents do not respect the policies, the child is not fitting into the daycare environment, child has become physically aggressive with other children or myself. These are just a few examples of why a daycare arrangement may not work out.
Working together we will make this daycare arrangement the most fun it can possibly be for your child. If each of us respects the other and has open communication this can be a very positive experience for all.
